Can You Use The Canon Powershot 650 Is With Kodak Computer Software?

I have had a Kodak camera for about 6 years and want to upgrade. I do not like the new Kodak cameras but like the computer software that comes with it (I tried a Kodak briefly but the pictures were almost always out of focus). Is it possible to buy another brand camera, say the Canon Powershot 650 IS and still use the Kodak software, not the Canon software? Or is there a Kodak digitial camera you recommend with good quality pictures?

  1. Firstly, all of the Kodak Easy Share cameras that I have ever tested take good quality sharp pictures. I keep one in the glove compartment of my van so that if I am not carrying my professional equipment and see a picture I want, I can take it. I get good results. If the pictures appear “out of focus” there is either a mechanical camera problem, or more likely you are not holding the camera steady while taking your pictures.
Now to address your question… If the Kodak software you like is software for retouching and image control, it will work just fine. If the software is for downloading images directly from your camera, than it won’t work and for downloading directly from your new camera to your computer, you will have to use the software that comes with whatever new camera you buy. If you are using a flash card reader (and for maximum download efficiency that is how you should be doing it), the download part of the software will have no effect at all.
Hope this helps answer your question.
