I was trying to save a couple bucks and I bought a few of the no-name brand batteries for my Canon DSLR. Never again! They loose their charge when you need them most. Stick with the Canon brand battery. It holds its charge much longer and will not randomly die on you. Batteries are definitely one of those things where you get what you pay for. Do not be fooled by the imitations.

I purchased after market “just as good” batteries to replace aging Canon batteries that were 3 years old at the time. Now the original equipment Canon batteries that are over 4 years old are still running strong and have outlasted the after market batteries from a variety of vendors. Running a test with my Canon 20D camera by selecting “auto run” in slide show, the 4 year old original equipment batteries run 4 to 5 hours and the after market batteries run 1 to 3 hours after just one year of use. ( one after market battery is completely dead )
The old adage ” you get what you pay for ” really hold true for rechargeable Canon batteries. I will only purchase Canon Batteries for my Canon camera from now on. Save money in the long run.

I’ve always preferred Canon products and this is no exception. I did have an off-brand rechargeable battery and it not only took longer to charge, but didn’t hold it’s charge as long. I would recommend this battery to anyone who needs an extra one for their camera.
