This is my first digital camera. I bought it based on the reviews on Amazon.com. I’m used to using manual SLRs so this was a change. The camera is really good for the price. Easy to use. Not super big. Decent quality pictures even in low light. I like the macro function. The pictures look a lot better on my computer than the LCD camera screen. I’ve only had it a month or 2 and no problems at all.

I love Canon. This little camera takes great images in all kinds of conditions. It’s not designed for low-light photography but even those images come out pretty good. During the day indoor shots are great too even without a flash.
For someone new to digital photography this is a great first camera. My teen-aged daughter uses it as her first camera and had taken some amazing shots! The A480 would also be good for an older person who wants to get into digital photography. You could also use it as a backup camera and be very happy with the results.
If you need an inexpensive, dedicated camera that you can carry around you’ll do well having this one. The best camera is the one you have with you! You won’t be able to capture the images without a camera!
