First off i want to start off by writing what happend to cannon i currently owned an sd1100is i gave it away to my cousin bad decision it was terrible on low light but it was featured packed and it took excellent photos now im trying to find a better camera and im racking my brain.the sd1200is All the features from the previous model are not in this model that are on the new one. thats not right thats not right at all. the picture quality is horrible. you will have to spend more money like there g series cameras to order to get quality you want and the features you want. i used the camera 5 days ago on program mode on vivid took a picture of a colorful pillow it was so vivid and clear 5 days later same setting it looks horrible something happend to the camera i dont know what but it broke. I will not trust canon products again i will go to fuji from now on. It will be returned to the dealer.

I had bought & sent back two larger canon digital cameras because I was not satisifed with the quality of the indoor photo shots. Too many adjustments necessary. In the meantime, I had passed on buying this camera for myself, but instead bought it as a birthday gift for my 13 yr old niece (in torqouise blue). Upon receipt I took it out of the box to test it out first to make sure it wasn’t broken. I WAS INSTANTLY BLOWN AWAY BY BOTH THE 1st AND 2ND INDOOR PICTURES I TOOK! It takes exactly the kind of clear indoor photos that I had been looking for. I simply took it out of the box, charged the battery and started snapping. UNLIKE THE MORE EXPENSIVE CANONS I HAD SENT BACK, I DID NOT HAVE TO MAKE ANY ADJUSMENTS ON THIS ONE TO GET DECENT PICTURES. Cystal clear & bright indoor pictures, even on the LCD. Decent indoor auto flash.
The functions are very simple and easy to understand. It’s much slimmer than other digital cameras, more like a cellphone, therefore fitting easy into your pocket. For picture quality and portability, it gets 5 stars from me. This is the kind of pal-camera that you would want ready for a quick trip or a family function. And I love the chargeable battery & battery charger that it comes with. However, you’ll have to buy your own memory card because this model does not come with a free one, but who cares? I already had three memory cards, so I just inserted one into the camera before mailing it off to my niece in Michigan (I live in California). Now I’m getting ready to order one of these for myself. ‘THIS IS A TRUE “READY CAMERA’

There is something wrong with these cameras. Reading all the great reviews makes me think something changed during manufacturing. I’ve gone through two of these cameras now because with the slightest impact the sensor goes out. It will turn on after that but there’s just a blank screen. The second one I had for all of two days and had taken one picture before the sensor went out. The last Canon Powershot I had lasted five years and still going without a single problem! Hopefully I can find one that doesn’t have this issue.
