I recently bought the Powershot SD1200 after I lost my SD1100 which I loved. I also own a Canon Rebel SLR, so I’ve always been very happy with my Canons. I am unhappy with the quality of the pictures even when they do come out clear…I’ve never had a camera that took such blurry pictures! I’m not sure if it’s my individual camera that has an issue, or if anyone else has experienced similar problems. I’m thinking of giving this away and buying the SD780 IS- which I’ve heard good things about.

I returned to Canon for an easy to use, portable camera, that takes great photos. Last year I was lured to another brand with a price promotion and was disappointed with the fuzzy, blurry photos it produced on a regular basis. Canon is a great, affordable camera.

This is one of the best bets in point and shoot cameras when it comes to getting the best quality for a low price. For under $200 this camera is small and portable and takes high quality photos indoors and out. Usually small low priced digital cameras like this one struggle when it comes to low light conditions but the Canon SD1200 IS produces natural unwashed-out flash photos and no blurriness with the flash off with some slight graininess depending on how dark it is. The only thing that I thought could have been better was more options for post processing and scene lighting presets are rather limited. However, if you really don’t like messing with the settings too much for quick photos it pulls this off very well. They even throw in something that most digital cameras have phased out by now, a manual view finder. Another benefit would be the provided rechargeable battery pack which keeps you from having to buy new batteries and it lasts a good long time on a single charge. After shopping for a couple months before Christmas 2009, this camera came out on top and it has yet to disappoint.

I have used digital point and shoot cameras from Canon earlier and I have found them to be exactly what they state it to be. I am not a professional photographer and have found Canon Powershot SD1200 IS to be an excellent digital camera for first time and novice photographers. The cool blue color of the camera looks exciting and different from other branded cameras.
The battery life is good especially when you use the camera with the flash turned off. The camera is highly compact and light weight, easy to carry and produces some great pictures.
The shopping experience from amazon as always has been really good. No problems what so ever. The package arrived on time in good packaging condition. I am really satisfied with the overall shopping experience.
