Great little camera case!

by John J. Hafey 2007-11-22, 116 people found this review helpful
I purchased this case to go with my Canon A570 IS camera. While it may not look it, it's a sturdy little case, with a soft lining which helps protect the camera's LCD screen.
There's a small zippered pouch in the front, which can hold 4 AA batteries, or a spare memory card.
I guess my primary reason for chosing it, over the PSC-60, or PSC-65, cases was the looks. The black color is unabtrusive, the styling is simpler, and it's a perfect compliment to Canon's A-series cameras.

Nice little case

by Koala1356 2008-08-24, 39 people found this review helpful
I purchased this for my Canon A590IS. As many other reviewers have mentioned, it has an outside zipped pocket which can hold 2 pairs of spare batteries (4 x AA) or an extra memory card.

The case is sturdier than I thought, which was a nice surprise, has a belt loop in the back, a velcro fastened top flap, and is filled with soft lining inside to prevent scratching. I felt confident putting this case in my soft-sided carry-on bag for a long flight, knowing that my camera would be suitably protected. Once opened, the camera is easily accessible, and slides in and out effortlessly from the top--perfect if you use the belt loop.

For just a basic carry/protective case for your compatible Canon camera, you can't go wrong with this one for the price.

Sturdy case with no extras

by Jenalyns Faith 2007-12-26, 46 people found this review helpful
I just received this along with a 720 IS camera for Christmas. While I like that it is sturdier than many camera cases I've seen, the design is very poor. I agree with all reviews that mention the storage capacity, although I'm fairly sure that if one is careful in how the storage pocket is used, it could probably hold 4 batteries and 1 memory card. The main reason for the three star review is the lack of a strap on this bag. Canon assumes that everyone who uses this case will be wearing a belt. I never wear one and am now having to find a way to rig up this case to work for my needs, namely a strap that connects to the case which I can put around my waist. Not very impressive Canon!

Perfect fit, solidly built.

I bought this case for my wife to carry her new Canon Powershot A720is. They were made for each other, as the fit is perfect. It doesn't slide or move around and there is a perfectly placed and sized zippered pocket to fit some extra batteries or another SD card. Stitching is well done and quality of the material is top notch too. It's the perfect fit for a small, "don't get in the way and be too bulky" case.

Nice basic case

For the money, this is a nice camera case. The down side is storage. There is only one pocket which can only hold extra batteries or memory card. Wish the manufacturer had added pockets on the side. They probably would have been big enough to hold extra memory cards and then the front pock can old extra batteries. That would be a nice, simple, small volume case.

Not a good case for Canon a650 IS

by P. Phillips 2008-04-01, 13 people found this review helpful
This case is too small for the Canon a650 IS. Additionally, the flap does not close totally over the camera such that rain and dust can easily get in. I do not recommend this case, even though Canon itself does!

Canon PSC-85 Soft Case For Cannon A 590Is

by B. Hanson 2008-09-30, 7 people found this review helpful
This is as good a case as I have seen, a real buy for $10. Although it isn't weather tight it is made very well, attractive, heavy enoungh to protect your camera, has a convient belt loop and a handy zip pocket to store extra SD chips.
It doesn't indicate that it fits the Cannon A590IS but it is the one they ship and it fits just fine.

Too big for Canon PowerShot A590IS

by J. Chien 2008-11-25, 7 people found this review helpful
I ordered this case for a Canon PowerShot A590IS. This is a high quality case, very well made, soft yet sturdy. However, it is (vertically) too big for A590IS. If I pull down the cover flap to properly cover the camera, the flap would extend about 3/4" beyond the base of the case. A bigger case would allow the camera to move inside the case and create unnecessary wears. Eventually I switched the cases with an older PowerShot A610, though the A610 case (PSC-60) is still a little big for A590IS.

Case leaves something to be desired

by M. Koziar 2008-07-18, 8 people found this review helpful
Disappointed that the case for my Canon A590 does not have a strap or even enough space in the attached loop to get my fingers inside (is the loop to run a belt through? Useless for me.) Also the velcro makes an awful racket if I try to open it to get the camera in a quiet place.

Nice, but not for A650-IS

by Frederick W. McManus 2008-08-04, 7 people found this review helpful
While Canon advertises this as the "right" case for the A650-IS, it's simply not big enough for that camera. It fits the A720 nicely (I gave my PSC-85 to my sister, who has that model), as well as earlier A6x0 cameras like the A620 and A630, but the cover doesn't close completely on the bigger A650-IS. If you're looking for a case for the A650-IS with a little extra room for batteries and a spare SD card, go for the Tamrac 5691 (perfect-sized, secure pouch with plenty of extra storage) or the Lowepro Spectrum 50 (nice, padded, but perhaps not as secure with its zip-around enclosure) instead.
