Do I Need The Battery Cover For My Canon Powershot Camera?

My Canon Powershot camera is not turning on. It has the fully charged battery in it, and it has the little blue SIM as well. They are both inserted correctly.
BUT I misplaced the cover for the battery compartment part.
WHY ISN’T IT TURNING ON? Is it because I don’t have the cover? Or is something else wrong with the camera?
Thanks.

  1. One of the troubleshooting points is to check that the memory card door and battery door are closed completely if you cannot take pictures.
See if you can find a switch in the door area and see if you can fake the camera in to believing the door is in place and shut.
