How Do I Add My Canon Powershot A560 To My Computer’s Hardware?

How do you add my Canon PowerShot A560 to my computer’s hardware?
I’ve recently got a new computer. I wanted to upload some photos from my camera to my computer but my Canon PowerShot A560 is not in my computer’s hardware. I have Windows XP. Can you please help me?
