How To Change Exposure Time With Canon Powershot S5 Is?

I want to take a star trails picture with my canon powershot s5 IS how do i change the exposure time.. Also are there any other settings like the aperture, ISO, or shutter speed that i should change.. I’m just learning how to use this camera.. so i greatly appreciate any help

  1. See pages 64-65 in your advanced manual.
    Put the camera in the Tv mode (the dial on top) and then use the arrow buttons (left < or > right) to change the time. It will go from 1/3,200 of a second to 15 seconds. 15 seconds is shown as 15″. “Zero point three” seconds is shown as 0″3. Unfortunately, you will not really be able to record star trails, even at 15 seconds, which is the longest time available with your camera.

  2. You need to read your manual, it will tell you all about it.
    If you lost the book, download a new one from Canon.
    Take a class, go to the library and borrow a bunch of books, then cruise the internet for tutorials.
    There is much to learn but it is worth it.
