How To Find Shuttercount Info On A Canon Powershot G10?

Does anyone know how to access the shuttercount / shutter activation information on a Canon Powershot G10. It isn’t part of the EXIF info.

Hi,
There is no way to my knowledge for Canon bodies other than the 1 series - Photo Mechanic does this, though there are others. Canon service depots may also be able to do this, but they do not release the software.
If the file mode has been set to continuous, and not reset, the sequential file number is a guide.
Cheers

1. Take a picture with it.
2. Turn off the camera and remove the memory card.
3. Transfer the memory card contents to a computer.
The shutter count should display in the information. Mine does - I own a G10. There might be another way to do this, but I know this way works. I use “iPhoto” on a Mac, but the shutter count should display on other programs as well - try it and see. Good luck!
Btw: I’m over 5,000+ exposures on mine. I don’t know if it counts videos but I’ve done a quite a few of those with it too.
