My Canon Powershot A610 Is Connected To My Computer With A Usb Cord But Isn’t Connecting?

My Canon Powershot A610 is connected to my computer with a USB cord but the computer isn’t registering that it is in. The camera doesn’t require a CD and should automatically work. I also went to Scanners and cameras to add it but it isn’t on the list.

  1. Get a card reader, they are cheap and very handy to use. You would put the card from your camera in the reader and open the reader as a drive in MyComputer, then also open MyDocuments/MyPictures and drag and drop your photos into the file.

  2. It the camera turned on?
Just use a USB card reader and avoid the problem all together.
